Last night’s Survivor Nicaragua was a typical Survivor series. Once before they had the “old people” vs. the “young people” so this series isn’t anything unique. What made it unique was that Jimmy Johnson is one of the survivors.

It was interesting how he told his group that he was there to help them win the million dollars because he knows that no one would vote for him.

What a twist of using great psychological means to keep him on the show. Maybe what he said was true, but he is a great coach and knows how to motivate people as well as keep his job. At least he led his group to vote out the “goat lady.” She seemed a little strange, but frankly anyone over the age of 50 who goes on that show is pretty strange to do so in the first place.

Also, if they keep showing Jimmy Johnson complaining about being tired, cold and hungry, I’m going to throw a pillow at the TV. What did he expect, a five star hotel stay? We “old” people have more aches and pains and he should just get used to it and deal with it.

Can’t wait until the “youngsters” start picking each other off.

Until later,

This month Undercover Boss returns with four new undercover boss segments. Top bosses from NASCAR, DirecTV, Chiquita and Great Wolf Resorts will see if they can do the work that their people do every day.

I hope that this season doesn’t get lame like last season with weepy stories .But when you have real people there will be weepy stories. I would love to see the boss fire someone who is a real screw up and make a commitment to evolve their company to more people oriented and better customer service than bottom line profits

Set your DVRs to Sunday nights starting September 26th and I’ll comment on the series as it goes along.

Also, Survivor Nicaragua starts on September 15th a Wednesday night. This series will go from Thursday to Wednesday night this season. Can’t wait to see how long Jimmy Johnson can survive. Heck he won’t have any hair spray, maybe he got a buzz cut before this season?

I’ll be watching, how about you?

Until later,

With the primaries over in Colorado, we have a choice for Senator between Ken Buck (Republican) and Michael Bennet (Democrat). I for one will never vote for Michael Bennet because behind his pretty boy face and “aw shucks way” lays a corrupt politician who takes money from special interest groups such as the teachers’ union and who has historically voted with the Democrats in Congress. He has voted for Health Care, TARP funds, Financial Reform and voted in lock step with all the Democrats in the Senate. He must turn to Mark Udall (Democrat) from Colorado and ask him how he should vote. I don’t believe Bennet ever had an original thought or even considered what his constituents in Colorado want.

Now he is hiding behind his recorded votes behind a façade of making education a plank of his campaign. How can he do this when he voted against D.C. school vouchers? I know, because I watched the Senate vote on T.V.

The D.C. school system is the worst in the nation. Public education is a mess there and kids who want a good education are attending charter schools or private schools. Unfortunately, their parents cannot afford sending them to a better school and count on federal government vouchers to pay for their kid’s tuition. But when it came to vote for money to fund the D.C. vouchers, Bennet was loud and clear to vote “no”.

So as you can see, Bennet is just another Democrat politician that pats you on the back with one hand and picks your pocket with the other hand. Don’t believe one word he says or promises you on his campaign trail. He can’t wait to get back to Washington to join his Democrat fat cat buddies in the Senate.

If I am wrong, I dare Michael Bennet to respond to my web blog with facts and not empty rhetoric.

If you really want to see “change”, vote for Ken Buck. Let’s shake up the monopoly that the Democrats have held for the past 4 years – yes 4 years. Have you seen how well they did so far with the economy?

Until later,

Here are the steps to get rid of the Secuirty Suite Anti-Virus sofware program brought to you by Victoria, Russian Federation.

1) Window users need to start in Safe Mode. To start in Safe Mode you must restart the computer and while the screen is still black, hold F8 down until the menu screen pops up. Use arrows keys to go down and highlight “Safe Mode with Networking” then press enter. Everything on the screen will appear large, but this is normal in Safe Mode.

2) Next you will to open your internet. If you’re having trouble accessing Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox follow these steps first.

Internet Explorer:

Click>> Internet Explorer>> Tools>> Internet Options>> Connections>> LAN Settings. Once you’ve reached this window uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN.” Then click okay, then click apply, and okay again.

Mozilla Firefox:

Click>> Mozilla Firefox>> Network>> Settings. Once you’ve reached this window, select “No proxy.” Then click okay and then click okay again.

Once you’re able to access the internet, follow the instructions below

3) Download the latest version Malwarebytes Anti Malware free software from a reputable site, such as cNET. When you click the ‘download’ button, an install window will pop up. Once this happens, click ‘run’ instead of ’save’ and then follow the installation process and be sure to check the option which saves an icon to your desktop.

The best thing about this software is that it will not only scan, but it will also remove the infected files free of charge. I know we’ve all experienced the virus removers which say they’re free, but when you’re finished scanning and hit the “remove” button, you’re taken to a site to purchase the full product. Purchasing the full Malwarebytes Anti Malware product is an option, but not required.

4) Once you are finished installing Malwarebytes Anti Malware software, you will then need to run the program. When performing a scan, most people want to be thorough, that is, however, unnecessary for removing the AV Security Suite virus. Check the “Quick Scan” box and click scan. This scan will vary in time, usually ranging from thirty seconds to five minutes which is a lot shorter than the other scan options.

5) Finally, click to view the infected files and then click remove. You will need to restart at this point and virus should be gone.

Until later,

Just the other day, my laptop was infected with a fake antivirus program. I couldn’t open up Outlook Express or Internet Explorer. I couldn’t even open up my Control Panel. For about 20 minutes all I received was pop up warnings that my lap top was infected and opened up a web page to a Security Suite program wanting me to buy their software. So I ran my MacAfee and it said that my computer was not infected. But the pop ups kept coming up. I restarted the computer and I still couldn’t open up Outlook Express or Internet Explorer.

So I agreed to buy their cheapest anti-virus and started to download the software program. I was concerned because they not only asked for my credit card number but also the three digit number on the back of the card. This is a no – no and I knew that for other transactions on-line I never had to give that three digit number.

Then almost immediately, I received a warning from my credit card company that the transaction amount was from SUPER-AV.COM in VICTORIA, Russian Federation. I immediately shut down my lap top before any more downloads was completed. I contacted my credit card company and told them to stop payment on this transaction. I then went back to my lap top and was able to open up my Control Panel and deleted the software program.

Whatever you do, do not purchase or download this software. It is a scam. In most cases, the only virus on the computer is actually associated with the AV Security Suite site itself. You don’t need to call anyone to get rid of this program or purchase antivirus software to remove the AV Security Suite virus. Go to this link and I highly suggest you print this out in case it happens to you.

I’ve lived in the Arkansas River Valley for over eight years. Our family has visited the Valley for over 25 years. We come to the Valley because of its natural beauty. River Rafters enjoy the rafting excitement of the river as well as the natural beauty of the area. Anglers enjoy the spring caddis hatch when fly fishing is at its best.

Now after twenty-years Christo a well-known artist is trying once again to produce a new visual art exhibit that covers 42 miles of the Arkansas River with fabric panels. These panels are between .5 to 2.5 miles long stretched across 8 or 9 sections of the river. The project will be in the works for about 28-months.

Those who do not live in the Valley think that this is a fantastic idea.

Why?

Money!

This project includes set up and tear down for about a year. It will create more than 600 jobs and generate more than $121 million for the local and state economy.

Even a local TV show’s reporters are gushing about the project.

I do not agree with hanging fabric over this stretch of the river. First of all, the area is basically through a canyon with small towns along the way. The larger towns are north of the area. This means more traffic congestion along the canyon. Of course river rafters are biting at the chomp to advertise this amazing feat to get more rafters. As for creating 600 jobs, has anyone figured out what would happen once the fabric is covering the river?

There is a reason that this stretch of the river is open and not covered. Fish and wildlife have easy access to the river. Natural grasses and trees need light to grow as well as attract fish and wildlife. The river freezes in the winter time, how long would it take for the river to unfreeze with a fabric covering it?

Also I can just imagine what will happen once the river is covered. Some idiot will try to walk on the fabric or drive a car on it. Or someone may try to express their artistic expression by spray painting the fabric with graffiti. Who will maintain the fabric once it is up? We get high winds along the canyon and I can see pieces of it floating in the river or laying on the road.

For eight years, the citizens in the Valley have said no to the project. Don’t let the cities of Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Denver or Canyon City allow this project to go forward. They won’t have to put up with the consequences of this idiotic expression of art. Keep the Rags across the River out of our beautiful Arkansas River.

Until later,

Linda

Her gnome garden had tiny bearded creatures arranged in a tiny gnome village, complete with mushroom homes. The owner has no idea who stole them but thinks the thieves may wanted them for their own yard or to sell on Ebay or Craig’s List.

If you see any of these gnomes for sale on the Internet or see some lurking in someone else’s yard please call the police. However, the owner hopes that the thieves will let the gnomes roam back home.

The big brouhaha in Colorado these days is Scott McInnis (Republican) for governor and the accusation that he plagiarized an article over 10 years ago. He was paid $300,000 for this article – I must be doing something wrong, as a freelance writer I’ve never seen this kind of money in my lifetime!

The way the news media is playing this plagiarism case out you would think that he

1. cheated on his taxes,

2. was a sex offender or

3. cheated on his wife.

I believe because he is a Republican candidate for governor, the biased media in this town is jumping on this case. No democrat ever did this thing did they?

If he was writing a thesis for his Master’s or Doctorate degree, I would agree that his was a big deal. But come on now, you tell me where you can find articles or even speeches that wasn’t plagiarized? One I can think of was V.P. Joe Biden who used someone else’s words in one of his speeches. Where was the outrage there? Where was the cry for him to step down from office?

In fact, when I started freelance writing many years ago I sent an article to a well-known magazine hoping that they would publish my article. Never heard back from them but about 3 months later, low and behold there was my article written by a staff writer for their magazine. Now that’s a case of plagiarism that I probably could have pursued, but I didn’t. These things happen all the time.

As for Mr. Scott McInnis, he’s apologized and said that he would work out paying back the money. Now even many Republicans, Tom Tancredo for one, want him to step down and not run for governor. Oh, did I mention that Mr. Tancredo will put his hat in the ring in place of Mr. McInnis – sounds like politics as usual.

In my opinion, Mr. McInnis did nothing wrong and this should not be an issue at all. At least he’s not a tax cheat, sex offender or wife cheater like some of the other side seem to find.

Until later,

Just like many other people filing their 2009 Income Tax Return, I forgot a deduction on my tax return. On April 19, 2010 I received a letter from the IRS saying that my refund of $63 will be in the mail in 6-8 weeks. It is now three months later and still no refund.

So, where’s my refund IRS? When I owe you money you expect me to pay on time. But when you owe me money, I wait forever. I know that this country is in a hole for over $13 trillion or more. But can’t you afford to pay me my $63 so I can spend it and grow the economy?

A month ago, I called the number shown on the letter and the recording told me that checks will be sent out in two weeks. Recently, I called the same number again and it is the same recording.

How can I believe in our government when all I get are lies! This is the worst bureaucratic government since Jimmy Carter days. Time for a change this November and in 2012.

Until later,

Linda
