Week 6 Elimination Round – Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Yesterday’s elimination round was not very pleasant. As predicted, Melissa Joan Hart was sent off right away with the fewest votes. Then the “dance off” took place between Louie Vito and Michael Irvin – as I predicted.

Louie got the short end of the deal and was eliminated. Once again, Michael Irvin has been saved to dance for one more week.

With only seven stars left – Aaron Carter, Mark Dacascos, Michael Irvin, Joanna Krupa, Mya, Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond – it seems that the men have an advantage over the ladies. Next week will also be a double elimination. The strongest competitors are Joanna Krupa, Mya, and Donny Osmond. Aaron Carter and Mark Dacascos may be the “dark horses” in this competition, so keep an eye on them in the next few weeks to see if they break out and become leaders of the pack.

Good luck to all the remaining stars.

 Until later,

Week 6- Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

This week’s Dancing with the Stars featured a Waltz and Jitter Bug. Len Goodman seemed in a very good mood and seemed to have a new perspective on life. He was very generous and was giving some of the dancers’ good scores. It seemed that Carrie Ann and Bruno were the bad guys this week.

Both Joanna Krupa and Mark Dacascos received the highest scores of 26 for their dances. However, Michael Irvin’s Waltz seemed pretty good to me but the judges, except for Len, gave him only 20 points. I liked the pep talk Michael gave himself, he should think about coaching in the NFL.

Another disappointment with the judges’ scores was for Melissa Joan Hart. Her Waltz seemed really good, she is what this show is all about. A person who had no dance training working really hard and doing the best she could do. But her score of 20 was very disappointing to me. Even Len said that he enjoyed her Waltz.

Len also said that Mya’s Jitter Bug was too gimmickry and I agreed with him. Donny Osmond’s Jitter Bug was also lots of fun but the judges gave him only 24.

Then the stars did a group Mambo. It was pretty hectic to watch on TV. The judges decided that they didn’t like Michael Irvin’s dance and he was eliminated right away. The last two standing were Mya and Joanna Krupa. Joanna won out with 10 points and now is the leader with a total of 36 points.

Tonite is a double elimination. The lowest score will be eliminated and the two dancers with the next lowest score will have a dance off with the judges’ decision to be final.

Who will be eliminated tonite? I think Aaron Carter is in jeopardy along with Melissa Joan Hart and Michael Irvin. Michael’s fans may save him from elimination so the next star in jeopardy is Louie Vito.  This season is too tough to call, I’ll be watching tonite to see if my “hunches” are right.

Until later,

Shocking Results Show on Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Last night was a real shocker on Dancing with the Stars. Natalie Coughlin got the least amount of votes and was eliminated. Granted her Paso wasn’t the best. Come on people, she is a better dancer than Louie Vito, Michael Irvin and even Kelly Osbourne. One dance should not make or break a star. She should have continued on to next week.

The tribute to Michael Jackson was very nice. The professional dancers gave it their all and I enjoyed the performance.

Now, the double elimination starts next week, so I better see the really poor dancers gone and not the good dancers who may have had a bad day. I’m talking about Donny Osmond, Mya and Joana Kruppa, they should continue to the end. As for Aaron Carter, Mark Dacascos, Melissa Joan Hart, Michael Irvin, Kelly Osbourne and Louie Vito, they are all in trouble in my book and really shouldn’t continue to the very end.

 Until later,

Linda

Week 5 Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Okay, so I watched Dancing with the Stars last night AND Monday Night Football! Great game, the Denver Broncos beat San Diego Chargers. Eddie Royal ran back two touchdowns, one from a punt return and one with a kick off. I guess the Broncos are for real – they are 6-0.

Now for Dancing with the Stars. Len was in a good mood last night and gave some pretty high scores. The highest score of 29 went to Donny Osmond – he received two tens – for his Argentine Tango. Great job!

Louie Vito for his Tango and Natalie Coughlin for her Paso Doblo, each received 22 points. But Michael Irvin received 21 points for his Paso. Actually I thought he did a really good job.

As for the group dance, the Hustle, it was fun to watch. But both Natalie and Kelly Osbourne seemed very cautious during the dance. I don’t think that will hurt them.

Whose leaving tonight? Either Michael Irvin or Louie Vito. I think the ladies are still safe for awhile.

 Until later,

Latin Ballroom Dancing tonite on Dancing with the Stars

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Tonite the remaining ten stars will be dancing either an Argentine Tango or Paso Dobla along with performing a group dance the Hustle. Unfortunately, tonite is also my beloved Denver Broncos football team playing against the San Diego Chargers.

What do I do? Watch Dancing with the Stars or Monday Night Football? This is a tough choice for me. I will probably be switching back and forth between the game and the show. But my predictions for the lowest scores will be Michael Irvin, Louie Vito and possibly Aaron Carter.

I’ll catch the Results show tomorrow.

 Until later,

Linda

Another star leaves Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

The ladies are ruling this season. Chuck Liddell was the next star to leave Dancing with the Stars. Now it is even, five ladies and five guys are going to compete next week in performing ball room dancing routines. They will be dancing the Argentine Tango or the fans’ favorite, the Paso Dobla. They will all get together and dance the group Hustle.

Good luck to everyone and for Aaron Carter, Michael Irvin and Louie Vito, you guys need to step it up a notch or else the ladies will run away with this competition.

 Until later,

Linda

New dances this week on Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

This week’s show introduced new dances that even some of the professionals didn’t know the steps! The Two-Step seemed to be a bit confusing to some of the professionals and quite frankly, some were not so good. Mark Dacascos and Chuck Liddell’s Two Step didn’t look very good, but Louie Vito at least at some of the steps in his routine. I liked what Ty Murray said about Louie when he was dressed up in a cowboy way – Ty said he looked like a mini-me!

Melissa Joan Hart was right on the mark with her Charleston. She did awesome and I really enjoyed it. I guess the judges did to because she received 28 points. Good job! Kelly Osbourne did a cute Charleston but she looked a bit stiff at times. She’s come a long way in her dancing. What can I say about Donny Osmond? Awesome job, great entertainer but he has to settle down and not be so hard on himself. Just keep doing what you are doing, you will go a long way.

Then there was the Lam Bada and Bolero. Natalie Coughlin did a very sexy Bolero even though she felt embarrassed. Michael Irvin’s Bolero was okay but he didn’t do enough of dancing in his routine. Aaron Carter fell short in his Lam Bada but Mya hit the mark! She was the other star that received 28 points from the judges.

The bottom two according to the judges scoring is Louie Vito with 16 points and Michael Irvin. I think another guy is going to leave tonite. I have been watching for the last four weeks and I’m not at all impressed with Mark Dacascos dancing. He may stay another week but I think the star leaving tonite will be Louie.

Until later,

Linda

Double elimination on Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Last night, two stars left Dancing with the Stars. One not by choice and the other had the lowest score.

Tom Delay decided that he could no longer compete. His strees fractures – one in each foot – made it very difficult to dance. But if all goes well, he is invited back to dance the Texas Two step sometime in the near future.

Debi Mazar was the next star to leave. No big surprise, it seems that the fans didn’t like her attitude and her excuses for messing up all the time.

Now we are down to 11 stars dancing. Next week should be fun to watch, I’ll be watching – will you?

Until later,

Linda
