Kathy Ireland leaves Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Just as I predicted, Kathy Ireland was the next star to leave Dancing with the Stars. Her lack of enthusiasm in her dances caused her leaving early.

Now with 13 stars left, some of the stars need to pick up their dancing. Who knew that Debi Mazar would be in jeopardy? Even though she seems to be a whiner, she can dance pretty good. She better change her attitude and come out dancing next week.

Until later,

Linda

Week 2 – Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Last night’s Dancing with the Stars seemed as though the judges were stingy with their scores. Take for instance Tom DeLay. His Tango was much better than the score the judges gave him which was 18. It was a true Tango and if Len were there, I believe he would have given him a higher score.

Baz Luhrman filled in for Len last night and he seemed to be an okay judge. But I do miss Len and hope he will be back next week.

As for the stars’ dances, I can tell you this much – there were some awful dances and then there were some really great dances. Kathy Ireland, was one of the awful dances I saw last night. I loved the song she was dancing to – “Shall we Dance?” from the “King and I.” However, she did not do the dance justice. She was too reserved and looked like she wasn’t enjoying the dance. It should have been a light and free Quick Step; instead, she made it a funeral dirge.

Most of the stars’ scores ended up in the middle with 19 – 21 – but Aaron Carter got a 27, Mya got a 27 and Donny Osmond got 25.

So who is going to leave Dancing with the Stars tonight? I predict Kathy Ireland. She has been dancing like a china doll – afraid to loosen up because she may break. I know she is a Christian woman but come on, you are on stage – loosen up and have some fun.

 Until later,

Linda

First two stars leaving Dancing with the Stars

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Just as I predicted, Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray were the first two stars to leave Dancing with the Stars. Too bad for Ashley Hamilton because he did have an uphill battle because of his motorcycle accident. A lot of people, like me, never heard of him and never saw him perform, so his fan base was pretty small. However, he should have been given a second chance, but the voters voices were heard.

As for Macy Gray, what can I say? Here eccentricity got the best of her. There is too much competition in this season’s Dancing with the Stars to have a slacker try to keep up with people who are trying hard to become ballroom dancers.

I enjoyed the segment about the “Losers Club” what a great way to make lemonade out of lemons.

The tribute to Patrick Swayze was awesome. I could see that the dancers gave their heart and soul in their performances and lots of love was shown during their dances. He was an excellent dancer that changed the style of dancing. He will go down in fame with all the great dancers. My favorite next to hime was Gene Kelly, yes that dates me! This segment was truly a three kleenex segment for me.

Now there are fourteen dancers. We’ll see how they do next week.

Until later,

Linda

Ladies night with Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

It was ladies night with Dancing with the Stars. The ladies didn’t disappoint. They were really great. Except for Macy Gray. Was she high on something? She just didn’t seem to be into the whole show. Kinda reminds me of Puff Daddy but she at least tried, even though her performance was very weak. True she had a busy schedule performing but it just seems that her heart and mind wasn’t into any of the dances. I guess that’s what you call eccentric?

Mya, Natalie Coughlin and Joanna Krup really shined and looks like they will be real competitors in the future. Kathy Ireland, Melissa Joan Hart and Debi Mazar have potential but they will have to work really hard. Kelly Osborne was the biggest surprise of the night. This “tom boy” turned into a lady dancing the waltz and into a fine cha cha cha dancer. Nice job.

My predictions for Wednesday night’s elimination – Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray. But then I’ve been known to be wrong.

Until later,

Linda

Season Premiere of Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Last night’s Dancing with the Stars featured the boys are back in town. Aaron Carter, Mark Dacascos, Ashley Hamilton, Michael Irvin, Chuck Liddell, Donny Osmond and Louie Vito each performed a ballroom dance and a Latin dance.

Some were good but some were not so good. I wouldn’t say that anyone of these stars was awful. Rumor had it that Ashley Hamilton was awful. But when you heard his story, he did the best he could do. Ashley was involved in a motorcycle accident and hadn’t walked in a year. He has since recuperated and is doing the best he can with dancing. What a great story!

The young guys were very flexible and moved rhythmically and of course the older guys were stiff and just couldn’t catch the beat. I would say all in all the guys did well in their performances. I did like the relay dance that they performed. Here you get to compare their dancing skills when each one performs right after the other. It seems that Donny Osmond is the big hit so far and he is a great entertainer.

Tonight the gals get to dance and we’ll see how they do.

Until later,

Linda

Season 9 – Dancing with the Stars

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Tonite’s Dancing with the Stars is starting its season nine with a three-night premiere. With the largest cast ever this season it should be filled with entertainment and drama. I only hope the show doesn’t drag out but be lively and fun to watch.

The season premiere will honor Patrick Swayze who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. They will be using some of his trademark dancing moves that made him famous. Maybe some dirty dancing will spice up the entertainment value of the show.

Already some stars have injuries. Tom Delay has a pre-stress fracture in his foot and Kathy Ireland has a gash on her leg from a surfing incident. Rumor has it that Ashley Hamlit is not the most talented dancer and that he is so bad that it is painful to watch.

Can’t wait to watch the season premiere tonight – see you on Dancing with Stars!

Until later,

Linda
