Dancing with the Stars returns on September 21, 2009

Heads up, all of you Dancing with the Stars fans. The first show is schedule for Monday, September 21^st. Sixteen celebrities will be strutting their dance skills this season. This is the show’s largest cast ever.

The stars competing are Mya, Macy Gray, Aaron Carter, Ashley Hamilton, Melissa Joan Hart, Debi Mazar, Joanna Krupa, Kathy Ireland, Mark Dacascos, Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond (OMG!), Chuck Liddell, Louie Vito, Natalie Coughlin, Michael Irvin and Tom DeLay, he was the former Republican Majority Leader.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the new, larger cast was programmed as a means of creating variety from season to season, as well as in order to fill the two-hour time slot. Executive producer Conrad Green told ET that halfway through the season, there will be a series of three double eliminations, dropping half the cast within three weeks.
