For a good time, check out Dirty Jobs
There was a time when the Discovery Channel only had brainiac type of shows. Who ever watched those shows? Only if you were in school and your teacher made you watch a show for homework.
Well now all that has changed. The Discovery Channel has exciting shows like Deadliest Catch – awesome series about crab fishing in Alaska – or Man vs Wild or Dirty Jobs. My two favorite series is Deadliest Catch and Dirty Jobs.
When I first tuned in to watch Dirty Jobs I really found it funny and interesting. Mike Rowe the host of this show makes this show really worthwhile watching. He is funny and with his good looks, makes the hour long show the best to watch on the Discovery channel.
Mike travels throughout the U S in search of dirty, smelly, disgusting jobs. He actually works at the job doing what they do every day. I’ve seen some shows where he worked as a fish processor, septic-tank technician to helping out a veterinarian with horses, llamas and donkeys doing the most disgusting jobs a veterinarian does. Of course, everything he does on this show has some connection to “pooh” and I don’t mean Winnie the Pooh!
The last episode took Mike Rowe to the Arctic region in search of green native sharks. The temperature was below freezing. He couldn’t feel his hands or feet but kept his sense of humor. They had to trap a shark to study this unknown species in the Arctic. They drilled a hole in the ice and put in a line filled with bait. They caught two sharks. The first shark didn’t make it so Mike was asked to do an autopsy. He was pulling out the stomach and liver of the shark – totally disgusting! The other shark they caught was alive and after they tagged it and put it back into the water the shark left a bit of a “pooh” mess. Of course, Mike said that’s what every show offers its viewers – a bit of “pooh”.
After every episode, Mike asks the viewers to send in ideas on their dirty jobs to keep the series going. So if you can think of any dirty jobs you do out there, send them to http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/dirtyjobs/dirtyjobs.html. Keep Mike Rowe doing dirty jobs. It’s a fun and entertaining show with a great host.
Until later,
Linda
