Shock and Awe result show Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars result show was filled with shock and awe!  Who would have thought that Sabrina had the lowest score this week!  Granted her last dance wasn’t her best but she is very talented.  Quite frankly, I didn’t like many of her dance routines but you can’t deny that talent.

Then there was poor Jane Seymour!  Food poisoning.  My gosh how much bad luck can one woman have.  She lost her mother a couple of weeks ago and now food poisoning.  Hope you feel better Jane. But I still say you have to do better next week otherwise you’re also gone.

So I was wrong, wrong, wrong with my prediction of who was going home tonight.  Truly I was shocked with the results.  I didn’t see Sabrina going home for at least a few more weeks.

However, my prediction on the final four still stands – Jennie Garth, Helio Castronoves, Mel B, and Cameron Mathison. So Cameron you better get moving and do a fantastic performance next week. I’m pulling for you!

Dancing with the Stars – the stars are aligning!

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Week 6 Dancing with the Stars and now the stars are aligning. What a great show!  The show is past the half way point and I can tell which stars will make it through the end.

First of all, I really enjoyed both Sabrina and Jennie’s performance this week. They brought fun and energy to their dances. Then Jane Seymour was next and I must admit, girl, it’s time to hang up your dancing shoes because the energy you need is not there for you. I’m pulling for you but leave the rest of the dances to those youngsters and go out gracefully.

What can I say about Cameron’s samba?  Oh me, oh my! And Mel B your rhumba was sensual and perfect.  In case you missed it the judges gave her a perfect 30 score.

Helio is back with his energy and smile.  Glad to see that.  But Marie – girl you are much better dancing like a gypsy as Bruno said than a bull.

So here is how I see it.  Marie and Jane will be in the bottom two tomorrow.  I really think Jane will be gone.  Marie you better step it up next week or else you’ll be gone.

I see the final four to be split between two guys -Helio and Cameron and two gals - Mel B and Jennie.  Yes, folks, I said Jennie.  I think Jennie is the dark horse and will make it to the final four. What do you think? Let me know. I’ll bet you a free cherry cheese pie recipe if I’m wrong.

Until later,

Linda

No more dancing with the star for Mark.

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Once again the dance is over for another star tonite.  I just hate it when I’m right – bye bye Mark.  Mark Cuban was gracious and a true professional until the end.  Did you see him shake the judges’ hands?  Wow!  What a guy!

What really surprised me was that Jane Seymour was one of the  bottom two.  I’m pulling for you Jane because us “girls” of that age group gotta stick together.  Go get it next week and good luck.

Now there are only 7 stars dancing and the competition is going to get really tough.  They’ll be performing two dances next week.  The remaining stars are doing a great job and blooming into great dancers.  Next week’s elimination is going to be really hard.

I’ll be watching and making my prediction after Monday night’s show.  Who do you think will be leaving next week?  Helio? Jane? Marie?

Until later,

Expectations high – scores low on Dancing with the Stars

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

This was the most interesting Dancing with the Stars show yet.  The judges’ expectations were high and their scores reflected this with some of the star’s dances.  First of all I really felt bad for Marie Osmand when she fainted.  It looked as though she was hyperventilating and then she fainted.  Isn’t ‘live” TV great!

This week the Latin dances were showcased.  I really think Helio did an excellent dance routine but the judges didn’t think so.  He got only a 23.  Of course, Sabrina is still rocking and scoring high each week.  But Mel B was truly the winner this week, she looked great! As for the most improved star, I give that award to Jennie and I think the judges thought so too.

What can I say about Cameron’s Rumba?  Hot, sexy and delicious!  Whew!

So right now the stars with the lowest scores are Marie and Mark.  This competition is really getting fierce and the judges are getting tougher.  If I need to choose which star goes home, I hate to say this but I believe it will be Mark.  His routine was cute and fun but not up to the level of the competition.

Sorry Mark, but you did real good and now it’s time for you to go.

Until later,

Floyd Mayweather gets knock out punch.

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, Floyd Mayweather got his first knock out punch.  He had the lowest votes of all the stars and danced his last dance.  Sorry to see him go, he was progressing nicely but I guess that’s what competition is all about.

Mark Cuban survived another week but the real shocker was Mel B.  She also received one of the lowest scores.  She looked like she was in tears after hearing the news.  I guess the ladies are now starting to feel the pressure. Sure they are dancing well, but as the competition gets tighter, the ladies have to pick it up a notch and perform at their best.

So who’s left? For the guys – Mark Cuban, Cameron Mathison and Helio Castronoves.  For the gals – Mel B (barely), Sabrina Bryan, Jennie Garth, Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour.

Who I see just hanging by their polished nails are Marie, Mel B and Jane Seymour.  Better performances ladies otherwise you too will be dancing your last dance.

One more comment.  Wayne Newton sang ”Danke Schane” last night.  Now I don’t know if the sound was bad but he didn’t sound very good last night.  If he sang like he did last night on stage in Vegas, I wouldn’t pay the money to see him.  Sorry Wayne.  But you are a big star and even Tom Jones sounds great in his 60+ years!

Until later,

Dancing with the Stars – great dancing!

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

For the first time in a long time that I can remember, I really enjoyed Monday’s Dancing with the Stars.  Great dancing and you could tell that the stars put in a lot of effort in their dance routines.

So I’m having a hard time figuring out who will get the least amount of votes this week.  I’ve kept track of the judge’s votes and see that Mark had the lowest score.  But I thought he did a great job.  I also see that Sabrina had the highest score – all 10’s.  Yes, she does dance very well, but the real star that was shining last night was Jane Seymour once again.

She danced the Waltz with elegance and grace.  Ballroom dancing suits her to a tee!  Wonder how she will do with the latin dances?

The lowest scorers again were the men – Mark with 22 and Floyd with 23.  I’m going to predict that one of the male dancers will get the least amount of votes.  This season the gals have it all over the guys in dancing.  Can we be seeing a final of Dancing with the Stars with all ladies?

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

My prediction – Mark will get the least amount of votes and go home tonite. (Hope I’m wrong because he is trying really, really hard, honest!)

Until later,

Bye-bye to Wayne dancing with the stars!

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

I really couldn’t believe that Wayne Newton was the next star to leave dancing with the stars.  I thought he had a huge following that would leave him in the competition at least for another week.  But I guess his fans decided that Wayne wasn’t up to par on his dancing skills.

What really surprised me was the look on Floyd Mayweather’s face when he heard he was one of the bottom two dancers.  He looked mad, mean and ready to fight!  Yikes!  Hope he turns that energy into something productive for next week.

Glad that Mark Cuban is given another chance.  When he dances it seems that he’s enjoying dancing as well as working hard.  But I’m giving him one more week to step it up.  Otherwise it’s bye-bye Mark Cuban – you’re the next to go.

Until later,

Linda

Dancing with the Stars – third week dances

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

The third week dances on Dancing with the Stars were awesome!  These stars are really working hard and it shows.  I tried to figure out which star’s dance was the best and after a lot of thought, I would say Jane Seymour took my breath away.  So lovely, so dramatic, so exquisite what a great Tango she did.

Which stars need a lot of help staying in the competition?  I see two stars that need help – Mark Cuban and Wayne Newton.  Sorry guys, but the ladies are doing great this season.  I still have a soft spot in my heart for Mark.  I really think he’s doing the best that he can.  He received a 20 from the judges.  So I hope he stays another week.  The jive just didn’t seem like his style maybe a nice ball room dance would fit him better.

But poor Wayne, his Tango was less than desirable.  He only got an 18 from the judges.  He may be a great entertainer but a dancer he’s not!

My prediction for tonight’s show – one of the guys is going home.  I won’t commit as to which one, but I just know it may be either Mark or Wayne. What do you think?

Until later,

Dancing with the Stars – 2nd week result

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Okay, so I’ve got egg on my face.  I was wrong.  Albert was the one to go.  Never saw that one coming!  Mark has another week to improve and I’m glad for him.

But Wayne, old buddy, you better pick it up a notch or three hundred otherwise you’ll be dancing your last dance next week.

Until later,

Linda

My theory on winning Dancing with the Stars – week 2

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

This is the 2nd week of Dancing with the Stars and I think I’ve finally figured out the theory of winning Dancing with the Stars.  You get a really, really great dance instructor who can dance up a storm, the judges love it and you look good and get high points.

Let me explain my theory.  Helio and Julianne did a fantastic Mambo last nite.  Helio was gyrating and Julianne was dancing her feet off.  The judges gave them all 9’s.  But in reality, Helio was just standing there and gyrating.  Yes, he did keep rhythm to the music but heck I can do that.

Okay let’s go to Mel and her Quick Step.  It was good for a non-dancer but she only got two 8’s and a 7 from Carrie Ann.

Then there was Mark Cuban.  He got all 6’s.  I thought he did a nice job dancing maybe not as flexible as Helio but a nice job.  I think he should have at least received 7’s.

Finally, I think my theory is correct with Sabrina and her Quick Step.  She is a hip hop girl and knows how to gyrate and dance her feet off.  She did an excellent job last nite and the judges loved it and gave her a total score of 36.

So what these stars need to do to win is tell their dance instructor to rock and roll it and they can stand and gyrate and smile.  What do you think?

Here’s my prediction for tonite:  A male star will be going home.  It’s a toss up between Mark Cuban and Wayne Newton.  Come on Wayne old buddy – kick it up a notch for us!

Until later,

Linda
